Jharkhand forces suffered fewer casualties in 2007

Ranchi, Jan 9 (IANS) Fewer security personnel were killed in Jharkhand last year, but the fight against Maoist rebels continued to be intense with more civilians dying, police here said.
Only nine security personnel were killed in 2007 as compared to 43 in 2006 and 27 in 2005.

Two Maoists arrested in Maharashtra

The Chandrapur district police arrested two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, identified as Manoj Maroti Sonule and Vinayak Sonule, from Ramnagar on January 6, reports Hitavada.
