At least 10 of the 17 Maoists killed in a coordinated police operation in Chhattisgarh were commanders in the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist). The Greyhounds of the Andhra Pradesh Police along with the Chhattisgarh Police killed the 17 in a crackdown early Tuesday in Bijapur district.
