Ex-Naxalite done to death

Hyderabad, August 25: A former Naxalite was battered to death with an iron rod allegedly by his wife and brother-in-law at his residence in Ravindranagar, Habsiguda here this morning.

V Ganesh Goud (40), the Naxaliteturned- advocate, was killed reportedly for having an illicit affair with the sister of his wife Pushpa.

While in the movement, he fell in love with Pushpa, who was a dalam member at the time, and married her. The couple later surrendered to the police and started living in the city. Ganesh began practising law and was also doing real estate business.

“Ganesh allegedly had an illicit affair with Pushpa’s sister Sudha,” DCP East Zone T Prabhakar Rao said. This morning around 7 a.m., Bal Reddy, car driver of their house owner Narasimha Reddy, saw Pushpa leave the house in haste along with her two children and brother- in-law Ramesh.

Sensing foul play, Bal Reddy went to the first floor and found blood stains at the entrance of Ganesh’s portion. He immediately alerted the house owner who called up the police.

“The scene of offence indicates that a major scuffle took place. Blood stains were found in the entire house and the dining table was also broken,” Prabhakar Rao said.

According to him, the killers threw chilli powder in Ganesh’s eyes and hit him on the head with a pestle and an iron rod. Pushpa too could have suffered an injury.

She left the house with a dupatta around her head, an eyewitness said. Sources said Pushpa approached the Osmania University police earlier to complain against her husband. She is also believed to have approached surrendered Naxalite Nayeemuddin.
